The diffserv-mode ingress egress command configures an MPLS DiffServ mode to ensure end-to-end QoS.
The undo diffserv-mode command restores an MPLS DiffServ mode to the default configuration.
By default, the MPLS DiffServ mode is Uniform.
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
uniform |
Specifies that the MPLS DiffServ mode is Uniform. |
- |
pipe |
Specifies that the MPLS DiffServ mode is Pipe. |
- |
service-class |
Specifies the Class of Service (CoS) for the packets that enter the public network from a private network. |
The available values are cs7, cs6, ef, af4, af3, af2, af1, be. |
color |
Specifies the color of a packet that enters the public network from a private network. The color marks the discard priority of the packet. |
The available values are green, yellow, and red. |
short-pipe |
Specifies that the MPLS DiffServ mode is Short-pipe. |
- |
egress |
Specifies that the node is an MPLS egress. |
- |
domain ds-name |
Specifies the name of a Diff-Serv domain that uses a specified PHB on an egress node in Short-pipe mode. |
The value is a string of 1 to 48 characters. |
ingress |
Specifies that the node is an MPLS ingress. |

Usage Scenario
Diff-Serv models include Pipe, Short Pipe, and Uniform.
Precautions
If a VPN instance functions as an ingress and egress on a device, you can configure the MPLS DiffServ mode separately for the ingress and egress. By default, the MPLS DiffServ mode of both the ingress and egress is set to Uniform.
The diffserv-mode ingress egress command and diffserv-mode command can overwrite each other. The two commands provide the same function. The only difference is that the diffserv-mode ingress egress command allows you to configure different DiffServ modes on the ingress and egress, whereas the diffserv-mode command allows you to configure only the same DiffServ mode on the ingress and egress. Before configuring the MPLS Diff-Serv mode for IPv4 services, ensure that an IPv4 address family is configured in the VPN instance view using the ipv4-family command. Before configuring the MPLS Diff-Serv mode for IPv6 services, ensure that an IPv6 address family is configured in the VPN instance view using the ipv6-family command.
