Function

The display bgp link-state unicast peer verbose command displays information about BGP-LS peers and their status.

Format

display bgp link-state unicast peer [ ipv4-address | ipv6-address ] verbose

Parameters

Usage Scenario

To check detailed information about BGP-LS peers, run the display bgp link-state unicast peer verbose command. The command output shows the following information:

BGP-LS peer connection status
BGP-LS peer configurations
Whether BGP-LS peers are successfully configured
Whether BGP-LS peers are successfully deleted

BGP Peer is	IP address of a BGP-LS peer.
BGP version	BGP version.
BGP current state	Current BGP state: Idle: BGP denies all connection requests. This is the initial state of BGP. Connect: BGP is waiting for the TCP connection establishment to complete before performing further actions. Active: BGP tries to set up a TCP connection. This is an intermediate state of BGP. OpenSent: BGP has sent an Open message to a peer and is now waiting for an Open message from the peer. OpenConfirm: BGP is waiting for a Notification or Keepalive message. Established: BGP peers can exchange Update, Notification, and Keepalive messages. No neg: The address family is not enabled for the BGP peer. In this state, Update messages can be exchanged in other address families whose capabilities have been successfully negotiated. If the address family is enabled for the BGP peer, the local BGP peer receives a Notification message, and the peer relationship is disconnected. Then, the BGP peer changes to the Idle state and re-establishes the peer relationship.

BGP last state	Previous BGP state (Idle, Connect, Active, OpenSent, OpenConfirm, Established or No neg).
BGP Peer Up count	Number of times the BGP peer flaps within a specified period.
Peer optional capabilities	The optional capabilities supported by the peer.
Peer supports bgp multi-protocol extension	The peer supports MP-BGP.
Peer supports bgp route refresh capability	The peer supports bgp route refresh capability.
Peer supports bgp 4-byte-as capability	The peer supports 4-byte AS capability.
Peer Preferred Value	Preferred value (PrefVal) of a peer.
remote AS	AS of a BGP-LS peer.
Remote router ID	Router ID of a BGP-LS peer.
Update-group ID	ID of the Update group to which a BGP-LS peer belongs.
Received total routes	Total number of received routes.
Received active routes total	Total number of received active routes.
Received : Active Hold Time	The value of active hold timer received from remote peer.
Received	Number of messages received from a peer. Total: total number of received messages. Update messages: number of received Update messages. Open messages: number of received Open messages. KeepAlive messages: number of received Keepalive messages. Notification messages: number of received Notification messages. Refresh messages: number of received route-refresh messages.
Advertised total routes	Number of sent route prefixes.
Configured: Connect-retry Time	The configured value of Connect-retry Timer.
Configured: Min Hold Time	The configured value of minimum hold timer.
Keepalive Time	Indicates the interval at which Keepalive messages are sent to the peer.
4-byte-as capability has been enabled	The 4-byte AS capability is enabled.
Address family IPv4 Unicast	Whether the routes advertised and received are supported in the IPv4 unicast address family.
Address family Link-State Unicast	Whether the routes advertised and received are supported in the Link-State unicast address family.

Last keepalive received	Time at which the last keepalive message is received.
Last keepalive sent	Time at which the last keepalive message is sent.
Last update received	Time at which the last update message is received.

No refresh received since peer has been configured	No Route-refresh message is received from the specified peer.
No refresh sent since peer has been configured	No Route-refresh message is sent to the specified peer.
No routing policy is configured	There is no route-policy.
Minimum route advertisement interval	Default minimum route advertisement interval: EBGP: 30s. IBGP: 15s.
Optional capabilities	Optional capabilities.
Route refresh capability has been enabled	Route-refresh is enabled.
Memory Priority	The priority for a BGP peer relationship to be disconnected if memory overload occurs.
Routing policy configured	A route-policy is configured.
Type	BGP link type (IBGP or EBGP).
Port	Local and remote port number.
Configured	Timer that is locally configured: Active Hold Time: indicates the hold time. If BGP does not receive any Keepalive message from a peer within the hold time, BGP considers the peer Down and instructs other peers to withdraw the routes received from this peer. Keep Alive Time: indicates the interval at which Keepalive messages are sent to a peer. BGP peers exchange Keepalive messages periodically to show that they are working normally.
Negotiated	The value of negotiated timer.
Sent	Number of messages sent to a peer. Total: total number of sent messages. Update messages: number of sent Update messages. Open messages: number of sent Open messages. KeepAlive messages: number of sent Keepalive messages. Notification messages: number of sent Notification messages. Refresh messages: number of sent route-refresh messages.
