Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

After packet headers are obtained, the display capture-packet config-state command can be used to display information about packet header obtain instances, including configurations and names of files saving instances.

Example

The actual command output varies according to the device. The command output here is only an example.

Capture-Packet Index

Index of a packet header obtain instance.

Type

Type of obtained packet headers:

  • local-host: packets that are destined for the local device.
  • forwarding: packets that are destined for a device other than the local one.
SysID

Protocol ID. Manual configuration is not supported. The default value is all. That is, all protocol packet headers are obtained.

LinkType

Link type:

  • ethernet.
  • ppp.
  • hdlc.
ACL

ACL number.

File Name

Name of a file saving an instance.

Time-out

Timeout time before the system stops obtaining packet headers.

Packet-num

Number of obtained packet headers in a file.

Packet-len

Length of each packet in a file.

BufferOnly

Whether the buffer stores the file.

Interface

Interface name.

Direction

Direction of forwarded packets:

  • inbound: obtains inbound forwarded packets.
  • outbound: obtains outbound forwarded packets.
