Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The display ipv4-ipv6 option-mapping command displays the mappings of the Access Line Identification, Vendor-class, Client-id contained in the DHCPv4 Option 82, PPPoE field, and DHCPv6 Options.

For example, the command output shows whether the Access Line Identification information is contained in the DHCPv4 Option 82, PPPoE field, and DHCPv6 Options 18, 37, and 17. Based on the command output, run the access-line-id parse-mode or option-82 parse-mode command to configure how the device parses the Access Line Identification information. The access-line-id parse-mode or option-82 parse-mode command configuration affects the parsing of DHCPv4, PPPoE, and DHCPv6 packets.

Other commands that configure Access Line Identification information include:

  • client-access-line-id and client-option82
  • access-line-id translate and option82-relay-mode subopt
  • option82-relay-mode include and access-line-id include
  • option82-relay-mode dslam and access-line-id dslam

Other commands that configure Vendor-class information include:
  • dhcp_option-60 and vendor-class
  • display vendor-class and display dhcp option-60
  • client-vendor-class and client-option60

Other commands that configure Client-id information include:
  • option-61
  • dhcp option-61 default-not-insert

Those commands are effective for both IPv4 and IPv6 packets.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
