display multicast forwarding-table

Function

The display multicast forwarding-table command displays the multicast forwarding table.

Format

For NetEngine 8000 F2A:

display multicast [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name | all-instance ] forwarding-table [ slot slot-id | group-address [ mask { group-mask-length | group-mask } ] | source-address [ mask { source-mask-length | source-mask } ] | [ verbose ] | incoming-interface { { interface-type interface-number | interface-name } | register } | outgoing-interface { include | exclude | match } { { interface-type interface-number | interface-name } | register | none } | statistics ] *

For NetEngine 8000 F1A:

display multicast [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name | all-instance ] forwarding-table [ slot slot-id | group-address [ mask { group-mask-length | group-mask } ] | source-address [ mask { source-mask-length | source-mask } ] | [ verbose ] | incoming-interface { { interface-type interface-number | interface-name } | register | clone } | outgoing-interface { include | exclude | match } { { interface-type interface-number | interface-name } | register | none | clone-pseudo } | statistics ] *

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
vpn-instance vpn-instance-name

Specifies a VPN instance. vpn-instance-name specifies the name of the VPN instance.

The name is a string of 1 to 31 characters.

all-instance

Indicates all the instances.

-

slot slot-id

Specifies the slot number of an interface board. The parameter is used to describe only distributed devices. If slot-number is not specified, information about all multicast forwarding entries on the main control board is displayed.

The value is a string of 1 to 15 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported.

group-address

Specifies the multicast group address, used to specify a multicast group.

The address is in dotted decimal notation and ranges from 224.0.1.0 to 239.255.255.255.

mask

Indicates the mask of a multicast address or source address.

-

group-mask-length

Specifies the mask length of the multicast group address.

The value is a decimal integer that ranges from 4 to 32.

group-mask

Specifies the mask of the multicast group address.

The mask is in dotted decimal notation.

source-address

Specifies the mask of the multicast source address.

The mask is in dotted decimal notation.

source-mask-length

Specifies the mask length of the multicast source address.

The value is a decimal integer that ranges from 0 to 32.

source-mask

Specifies the mask of the multicast source address.

The mask is in dotted decimal notation.

verbose

Detailed information.

-

incoming-interface

Indicates the incoming interface of a multicast forwarding entry.

-

interface-type

Specifies the type of an interface.

-

interface-number

Specifies the number of an interface.

-

interface-name

Specifies the name of an interface.

-

register

Indicates the register interface of a multicast forwarding entry.

-

outgoing-interface

Indicates the outgoing interface of a multicast forwarding entry.

-

include

Indicates the (S, G) entry list that contains the specified downstream interface.

-

exclude

Indicates the (S, G) entry list that does not contain the specified downstream interface.

-

match

Indicates the (S, G) entry list that matches the specified interface and the (S, G) entries have only one specified interface.

-

none

Indicates that the downstream interface list is null.

-

statistics

Indicates the statistics of the multicast forwarding table.

-

clone

Cloned outbound interface.

NOTE:

This parameter is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

-

clone-pseudo

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The display multicast forwarding-table command is used to view the multicast forwarding table on the main control board or an interface board. If no slot number is specified in this command, the multicast forwarding table on the main control board is displayed.

Configuration Impact

Running the display multicast forwarding-table command consumes resources on the main control board or interface board.

Example

The actual command output varies according to the device. The command output here is only an example.

Table 1 Description of the display multicast forwarding-table command output
Item Description
1

Sequence number of the (S, G) entry.

Multicast Forwarding Table of VPN-Instance

VPN instance to which the multicast forwarding table corresponds.

Total 1 entry, 1 matched

Total number of forwarding entries and number of eligible forwarding entries.

Incoming interface

Upstream interface of the (S, G) entry.

List of 1 outgoing interfaces

Outbound interface information.

1: GigabitEthernet0/1/0

Indicates the sequence number and name of a downstream interface.

Timeout in

Overtime of multicast forwarding table.

Out tunnel information

Out tunnel information.

Matched 0 packets(0 bytes), Wrong If 0 packets

Indicates the number of multicast packets and bytes that match the (S, G) entry and the number of packets with incorrect upstream interfaces.

Matched rate

Multicast traffic match packet rate, bit rate. It is updated every 15 seconds.

Forwarded 0 packets(0 bytes)

Indicates the number of packets and bytes forwarded by the (S, G) entry.

Selected root

Root IP.

(bas)

Broadband access server flag.

(10.1.1.5, 239.0.0.1)

(S, G) entry in the multicast routing table.

MID

Uniquely identifies the multicast forwarding entry in the MFIB table. MID is used to rapidly search the multicast forwarding table.

Activetime

Time since the outbound interface went Up.

Flags

Status flag of the (S, G) entry.

If the multicast forwarding table on the main control board is displayed:

  • 1: indicates multicast forwarding entries have been delivered to interface boards.
  • 0: indicates multicast forwarding entries have not been delivered to interface boards.

If the multicast forwarding table on an interface board is displayed:

  • 1: indicates that the multicast traffic statistics require attention.
  • 0: indicates that the multicast traffic statistics are ignored.
Uptime

Living time of multicast forwarding table.

Mtoken

Mtoken of the tunnel.
