dns-redirect web-server

Function

The dns-redirect web-server command configures the IP address of a specified web server to which DNS packets that do not match whitelists are redirected.

The undo dns-redirect web-server command deletes the IP address of a specified web server.

By default, no IP address is configured for a specified web server to which DNS packets that do not match whitelists are redirected.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

dns-redirect web-server ip-address

undo dns-redirect web-server [ ip-address ]

Indicates the IPv4 address of a specified web server to which DNS packets that do not match whitelists are redirected.

The value is in dotted decimal notation.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When users access the network using HTTPS, the system filters DNS packets to be sent to the pre-authentication domain based on whitelists and redirect the DNS packets that do not match the whitelists to a specified web server. To configure the IP address of the specified web server, run the dns-redirect web-server command.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
