dot1x supplicant enable

Function

The dot1x supplicant enable template command enables the 802.1X supplicant function on an interface and specifies an 802.1X supplicant template.

The undo dot1x supplicant enable command disables the 802.1X supplicant function on an interface.

By default, the 802.1X supplicant function is disabled on an interface.

Format

dot1x supplicant enable template dot1x-supplicant-template-number

undo dot1x supplicant enable [ template dot1x-supplicant-template-number ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
template dot1x-supplicant-template-number

Specifies the number of an 802.1X supplicant template.

The value can only be set to 1 only, indicating that only one 802.1X supplicant template is supported on a device.

Usage Scenario

802.1X authentication can prevent unauthorized users from accessing the network, improving network security. To enable the 802.1X supplicant function on an interface of a device that runs the 802.1X authentication protocol to obtain access rights to external network resources, run the dot1x supplicant enable template command.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

# Enable the 802.1X supplicant function on GE 0/1/8 and specify the supplicant template number as 1.
