Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If a license permits, a device can switch between the IETF and non-IETF DS-TE modes. The mode switching results the following situations:

  • The TE-class mapping table and BCM change.
  • Network connectivity issues occur.

Exercise caution when using the mpls te ds-te mode command.

Configuration Impact

If DS-TE is enabled in non-IETF mode and no CT0 TE-class is configured in the TE-class mapping table, the existing tunnel of CT0 goes Down. To prevent such a situation, configure CT0 TE-class mapping in the TE-class mapping table before enabling DS-TE.

Precautions

If bandwidth constraints are configured for a tunnel, the IETF and non-IETF modes cannot be switched to each other.

Example

# Set the DS-TE mode to IETF.
