Function

The fqdn command configures a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for an entity.

The undo fqdn command deletes an FQDN for an entity.

By default, no FQDN is set for an entity.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

fqdn fqdn

undo fqdn fqdn

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
fqdn

Specifies an FQDN of an entity.

The value is a string of 1 to 255 case-sensitive characters. The string does not contain question marks or spaces. The string can contain spaces if it is enclosed with double quotation marks (").

To describe an entity, run the fqdn command to configure an FQDN for the entity

The FQDN uniquely identifies an entity on a network. It consists of a host name and a domain name and can be resolved into an IP address. For example, an FQDN is set to www.user.com.
