Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

IGMP snooping runs in a BD in an EVPN scenario. After receiving an IGMP message, a user-side PE generates Layer 2 multicast forwarding entries and sends the entries to a multicast-source-side PE through a BGP EVPN SMET route. If the multicast source and multicast receiver are connected to the same PE, the PE does not need to advertise BGP EVPN SMET routes carrying Layer 2 multicast forwarding entries to other PEs. To disable the PE from sending or receiving BGP EVPN SMET routes and enable the PE to delete the SMET routes received, run the igmp-snooping signal-smet disable command.

Prerequisites

The evpn binding vpn-instance command has been run in a BD.
