igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer

Function

The igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer command configures an interface as an IGMP snooping proxy uplink interface. No IGMP Query message can be sent to this interface.

The undo igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer command cancels the configuration.

By default, no IGMP snooping proxy uplink interface exists in a VSI.

Format

igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer remote-peer-addr [ negotiation-vc-id vc-id ]

igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer remote-peer-addr bgp-ad

undo igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer remote-peer-addr [ negotiation-vc-id vc-id ]

undo igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port remote-peer remote-peer-addr bgp-ad

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
remote-peer-addr

Specifies a remote peer IP address.

The value is in dotted decimal notation.

negotiation-vc-id vc-id

Specifies a VC ID. A VC ID is used when two VSIs that have different names need to communicate.

The value of the vc-id parameter in this command must be different from the VSI ID configured for another local VSI or other VSI IDs specified locally using negotiate-vc-id. That is, the specified VC ID must be an unused one.

If negotiate-vc-id is configured on the local end, the value of negotiate-vc-id or vsi-id configured on the peer must be the same as the value of negotiate-vc-id configured on the local end.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 4294967295.

bgp-ad

Specifies BGP-AD as the signaling negotiation protocol for VSI PW setup.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

After the IGMP snooping proxy or querier function is enabled on a Layer 2 device, the Layer 2 device broadcasts IGMP Query messages to all interfaces (including router interfaces) in a VLAN/VSI/BD periodically, which may trigger IGMP querier reelection. To prevent IGMP querier reelection, run the igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port command on the router interface to disable the Layer 2 device from sending IGMP Query messages to the router interface in a VSI.

Prerequisites

IGMP snooping proxy has been enabled using the igmp-snooping proxy in the VLAN/VSI/BD view, or IGMP snooping querier has been enabled using the igmp-snooping querier enable command in the VSI view.

Precautions

Only one IGMP snooping proxy unlink interface can be configured in a VSI.

For a VSI, the igmp-snooping proxy-uplink-port command can be only used on a VSI in LDP mode or the leaf node of a VSI in BGPAD mode.
