Function

The ip userlog access send format syslog command configures the device to use the syslog format to send user online and offline logs.

The undo ip userlog access send format syslog command restores the default configuration.

By default, the devices uses packets to send original user login and logout logs to a log server.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Usage Scenario

To parse received packets that carry user login and logout logs, a log server must support the packet parsing mode specified by the By default, the devices uses packets to send original user login and logout logs to a log server..

However, if a log server does not support the packet parsing mode specified by the By default, the devices uses packets to send original user login and logout logs to a log server., to prevent packet parsing failures, run the ip userlog access send format syslog command to specify the syslog format as the encapsulation format for packets used to send user login and logout logs. After the command is run, the device encapsulates one user login or logout log in a packet, called the syslog encapsulation format, and sends the packet to a log server. The log server can directly parse the packets to obtain user online and offline log information.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
