The option router disable command disables the function of sending a gateway address to DHCP clients.
The undo option router disable command enables the function of sending a gateway address to DHCP clients.
By default, the function of sending a gateway address to DHCP clients is enabled in an address pool.
Usage Scenario
When a carrier has high requirements on network security and does not want clients to get aware of the gateway address, run the option router disable command to prohibit the DHCP server from sending clients Option 3 that contains the gateway address.
Configuration Impact
After the option router disable command is executed, DHCP clients cannot obtain the gateway address through Option 3.
Follow-up Procedure
Configure routes towards the target network. For example, run the option33 route command to allow a DHCP client to obtain both the gateway address and the routes towards the target network.
