The ipv6-warning-threshold command configures an upper alarm threshold for the usage of IPv6 addresses or prefixes. If the usage of IPv6 addresses or prefixes is greater than or equal to the configured threshold, a threshold-crossing alarm is sent to the NMS.
The undo ipv6-warning-threshold command restores the default IPv6 address or prefix usage threshold. If a threshold-crossing alarm has been sent to the NMS, a new alarm is sent to clear the alarm information. After that, no threshold-crossing alarm will be sent to the NMS, regardless of the IPv6 address or prefix usage in the domain.
The ipv6-warning-threshold lower-limit command sets an IPv6 address or prefix usage lower alarm threshold.
The undo ipv6-warning-threshold lower-limit command deletes the configured lower alarm threshold for the usage of IPv6 addresses or prefixes.
By default, no alarm is generated for the number of IPv6 addresses or prefixes.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Usage Scenario
On an IPv6 network, the device may use the IA_NA option of DHCPv6 to allocate an IPv6 address, or use NDRA to allocate a 64-bit exclusive IPv6 prefix, or use the IA_PD option of DHCPv6 to allocate an IPv6 prefix with a configurable length. Any failure to allocate an IPv6 address or prefix may cause users to fail to get online. To prevent allocation failures, you can run the ipv6-warning-threshold command to set an IPv6 address or prefix usage threshold.
The upper alarm threshold helps to identify excessive users on a network, and the lower alarm threshold helps to identify users' logout due to faults.Configuration Impact
When the IPv6 address or prefix usage in a specified domain exceeds the configured upper alarm threshold, the system displays an alarm, instructing the administrator to plan IPv6 addresses properly. This prevents failures of users to get online due to IPv6 address exhaustion.
When the IPv6 address or prefix usage falls below the upper alarm threshold, the alarm is cleared.Precautions
