ipv6 ppp assign-interfaceid

Function

The ipv6 ppp assign-interfaceid command configures the device to allocate interface IDs during IPv6 CP negotiation.

The undo ipv6 ppp assign-interfaceid command restores the default configuration.

By default, the device accepts the interface IDs that are not 0 and do not conflict with one another carried in Configure-Request messages sent from users during IPv6 CP negotiation.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The ipv6 ppp assign-interfaceid command can be used to configure the device to allocate interface IDs, allowing carriers to manage interface IDs in a centralized manner.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

When a RADIUS server allocates interface IDs, users must accept the allocated interface IDs. If they do not accept the interface IDs, IPv6CP negotiation will fail.
