tunnel-selector (BGP-Labeled address family view)

Function

The tunnel-selector command applies a tunnel selector.

The undo tunnel-selector command deletes the configuration.

By default, no tunnel selector is applied to BGP-VPNv4, BGP-VPNv6 or labeled BGP routes. BGP-VPNv4, BGP-EVPN routes, BGP-VPNv6 or labeled BGP routes recurse only to LSPs.

Format

tunnel-selector tunnel-selector-name all

tunnel-selector tunnel-selector-name

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
tunnel-selector-name

Specifies the name of a tunnel selector.

The value is a string of 1 to 40 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported. When double quotation marks are used around the string, spaces are allowed in the string.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

On a BGP/MPLS IP VPN/BGP/MPLS IPv6 VPN, run the tunnel-selector command to apply a tunnel selector to labeled BGP routes so that these routes can recurse to desired types of tunnels in the following situations:

  • The ASBR in inter-AS VPN Option B networking needs to apply a tunnel policy to VPNv4 routes, BGP-VPNv6 that are received from PEs, although VPN instances are not configured on the ASBR.
  • The SPE in the HoVPN networking needs to apply a tunnel policy to VPNv4 routes that are received from UPEs.
  • The PE in inter-AS VPN Option C networking needs to apply a tunnel policy to recurse labeled routes to TE tunnels to guarantee bandwidth or implement load balancing among BGP LSPs.
  • In an inter-AS VPN Option C scenario, to implement tunnel-based load-balancing among labeled BGP routes, run the tunnel-selector [all] command to configure a tunnel selector on the ASBR. If the all parameter is used, the tunnel selector applies to all BGP IPv4 unicast routes, including labeled routes, imported routes, and network segment routes.

Prerequisites

A tunnel selector has been configured using the tunnel-selector (system view) command.

Precautions

Deleting the tunnel selector applied to labeled BGP routes may interrupt VPN services, because the labeled BGP routes may fail to recurse to tunnels.

The SRv6 TE Policy or SRv6 TE Policy Group of tunnel is not supported in a tunnel selector specified in the command.
