path metric-type (MPLS TE P2P template view)

Function

The path metric-type command specifies a link metric type in a P2P TE tunnel template so that the link metric type can be used to select links.

The undo path metric-type command restores the default link metric type.

By default, the TE metric is used.

path metric-type { te | igp }

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The link metric type is used to select links. If links have the same constraint parameters, the path with the smallest link metric sum is selected. On an MPLS network, either IGP or TE metric is used. The rules for selecting IGP and TE metric types are as follows:

  • The TE metric is recommended. If the TE metric type is used, do not change it.
  • If the TE metric type is not specified, you can run the path metric-type command to use the IGP metric.

Prerequisites

A P2P TE tunnel template has been configured using the mpls te p2p-template command.

Example

# Create a P2P TE tunnel template named Template1 and specify the TE metric type in the template view.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] mpls
[*HUAWEI-mpls] mpls te
[*HUAWEI-mpls] quit
[*HUAWEI] mpls te p2p-template Template1
[*HUAWEI-te-p2p-template-Template1] path metric-type te
