Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

Considered the integrity of the information during the transmission of a Register message, the checksum can be calculated based on the header or all contents in the Register message.

If a non-Huawei device does not support checksum calculation based on the header in a Register message, run the register-packet-checksum command on the Huawei Router to enable checksum calculation based on all contents in a Register message, so that the two devices can communicate.

Example

# Enable checksum calculation based on all contents in a Register message in the public network instance.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] multicast routing-enable
[*HUAWEI] pim
[*HUAWEI-pim] register-packet-checksum
