protect srv6 tunnel-policy

Function

The protect srv6 tunnel-policy command configures a forwarding protection path between the master and backup devices. User traffic entering the SRv6 protection path means that the IPv4 and IPv6 public network traffic recurses to an SRv6 TE Policy.

The undo protect srv6 tunnel-policy command cancels the configured SRv6 protection path.

By default, no SRv6 protection path is configured.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To configure a forwarding protection path between the master and backup devices, run the protect srv6 command. When an access-side link fails, the traffic from the network side to the user side will switch to the slave device through the protection path and then be forwarded to users.

Precautions

1.In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

2. If RUI protection tunnels are expected to be carried over SRv6 tunnels, theSRv6 tunnels must be the TE-Policy tunnels in encap mode (The tunnel egress supports the USD capability).

3. The RUI protection tunnel does not support penultimate hop popping in SRv6 scenarios. Traffic can only be popped up at the last hop.

4. RUI SRv6 protection tunnels can be carried over the unique SRv6 tunnel per RBS and do not support color-based route matching.
