The ptp asymmetry-correction command sets the asymmetry correction time on a PTP interface.
The undo ptp asymmetry-correction command deletes the asymmetry correction time setting on a PTP interface.
By default, no asymmetry correction time is set.
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
positive correction-value |
Specifies a positive asymmetry correction value. |
The value is an integer that ranges from 0 to 2000000, in ns. |
negative correction-value |
Specifies a negative asymmetry correction value. |
The value is an integer that ranges from 0 to 2000000, in ns. |
Usage Scenario
Although the delay time for sending packets differs from that for receiving packets, PTP considers that the opposite paths have the same delay time. To compensate for the difference between the delay time for sending packets and the delay time for receiving packets, run the ptp asymmetry-correction command to set the asymmetry correction value. A PTP device automatically uses the asymmetry correction value in path delay calculation complying with the Pdelay or delay measurement mechanism.
Prerequisites
The ptpdelay-mechanism command has been run to enable a delay measurement mechanism on OC, BC, and TCandBC interfaces.
Precautions
This command is supported only by the admin VS.
