The holdoff command configures the hold time for PW APS switching.
The undo holdoff command restores the default hold time for PW APS switching.
By default, the hold time for PW APS switching is 0 seconds. When the working path becomes faulty, traffic is switched to the protection path immediately.
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
holdoffValue |
Specifies the hold time for PW APS switching. |
The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 100, in milliseconds. The step length is 100 milliseconds. The hold time equals interval multiplied by 100. Therefore, the minimum hold time is 0 milliseconds, and the maximum hold time is 10 seconds. |
Usage Scenario
By default, when the working path is faulty, traffic is switched to the protection path immediately. If the working path intermittently flaps or an error occurs in the detection mechanism, traffic is switched frequently. To prevent the preceding problem, run the
holdoff command to configure the hold time for traffic switching. If a fault is detected on the working path after the holdoff command is configured, traffic still travels along the working path within the specified period:Prerequisites
A PW APS instance has been created using the pw-aps command.
Configuration Impact
In a scenario in which the holdoff command is configured, if the fault on the working path persists during the hold time, traffic will be interrupted within this period.
