reset ppp statistics

Function

The reset ppp statistics command clears statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

reset ppp statistics { slot slot-id | interface { interface-name | interface-type interface-number } }

Parameters

slot slot-id	Clears statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages on a board in a specified slot.	The value is a string of 1 to 15 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported.
interface	Clears statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages on a specified interface.	-
interface-name	Specifies the interface name.	-
interface-type interface-number	Clears statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages on a specified interface. interface-type interface-number specifies the interface type and number.	-

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If you need to collect statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages over a period of time, run the reset ppp statistics command to clear the existing statistics beforehand.

Precautions

This command is supported only on the admin VS.

After the reset ppp statistics command is run, the statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages are cleared and cannot be restored. Exercise caution when running the command.

The command run the main interface clears statistics about the main interface and sub-interfaces.

Example

# Clear statistics about PPP packets and authentication messages on the board in slot 1.
