Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The system supports two configuration validation modes: immediate validation and two-phase validation.

  • Run the system-view command to enter the system view. You can edit configurations in two-phase validation mode. In two-phase validation mode, run the commit command after editing configurations to make the configurations take effect.
  • Run the system-view immediately command to enter the system view. You can edit configurations in immediate validation mode. In immediate validation mode, press Enter after entering a command to make the configuration take effect immediately.

Precautions

In a command prompt, HUAWEI is the default host name of the device. The prompt indicates the current view. The prompt "" indicates the user view, and the prompt "[HUAWEI]" indicates the system view in the immediate validation mode, and the prompt "[*HUAWEI]" indicates the system view in the two-phase validation mode. In two-phase validation mode, if any configurations are not submitted in the system, * is used for identification in the view. If all configurations have been submitted in the system, ~ is used for identification in the view.

Example

# Enter the system view and adopt the two-phase validation mode.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] sysname PE
[*HUAWEI] commit
[~PE]
# Enter the system view and adopt the immediate validation mode.
<HUAWEI> system-view immediately
[HUAWEI] sysname PE
[PE]
