mpls te bandwidth max-reservable-bandwidth dynamic

Function

The mpls te bandwidth max-reservable-bandwidth dynamic command sets the proportion of the maximum reservable bandwidth to the physical bandwidth of a specific interface.

By default, the proportion of the maximum reservable bandwidth to the physical bandwidth is not set.

Format

mpls te bandwidth max-reservable-bandwidth dynamic max-dynamic-bw-value

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
max-dynamic-bw-value

Specifies the proportion of the maximum reservable bandwidth to the physical bandwidth (%).

The value is a percent integer ranging from 1 to 1000.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The reserved bandwidth configured on the interfaces along an MPLS TE tunnel is the basis for MPLS TE to determine whether the link meets the bandwidth requirements. If a fixed bandwidth is configured on an interface and the physical bandwidth of the interface changes, the configured bandwidth may not be the actual reservable bandwidth. As a result, MPLS TE incorrectly evaluates link bandwidth resources.

To address this issue, you can set the maximum reservable bandwidth and BC dynamic bandwidth on the interface. The former is the percentage of the maximum reservable bandwidth to the actual physical bandwidth, and the latter is the percentage of each BC bandwidth to the maximum reservable bandwidth. The two parameters help the interface dynamically reserve bandwidth for an MPLS TE tunnel.

To set the proportion of the dynamic maximum reservable bandwidth to the physical bandwidth of a specific interface, run this command.

Prerequisites

MPLS TE has been enabled using the mpls te command on the interface.

Configuration Impact

When both the mpls te bandwidth max-reservable-bandwidth dynamic command and the mpls te bandwidth max-reservable-bandwidth command are run in a random order on an interface, the last executed command takes effect.

After the mpls te bandwidth max-reservable-bandwidth dynamic command is run on an interface, only the mpls te bandwidth dynamic command can be used to set the proportion of the bandwidth in a BC pool to the maximum reservable bandwidth.

Example

# Set the proportion of the maximum reservable bandwidth to the physical bandwidth to 80% on GE 0/1/0.
