Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

Before you enable TE for an IS-IS process, use the cost-style command in IS-IS view to set the cost type of IS-IS packets to wide, compatible, or wide-compatible.

Prerequisites

After TE is enabled for an IS-IS process, IS-IS sends LSP change information to TE every 3 seconds. As a result, TE data may be updated slowly. To address this issue, run the mpls te tedb fast-notice command. After this configuration, IS-IS immediately sends LSP change information to TE for the first ten times, and then sends LSP change information to TE every 3 seconds.

Precautions

To enable TE for Level-2 in a VPN scenario, configure the VPN instance IPv4 address family first.

Example
