traffic-policy(System view)

Function

The traffic-policy command applies a traffic policy globally.

The undo traffic-policy command cancels a traffic policy that is applied globally.

By default, no traffic policy is applied globally.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

traffic-policy policy-name { inbound | outbound }

undo traffic-policy policy-name { inbound | outbound }

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
policy-name

Specifies the name of a traffic policy that is applied. The value of policy-name must be different from the policy name predefined by the system.

The value is a string of 1 to 127 characters.

inbound

Indicates that the traffic policy is applied to the incoming packets.

The network traffic from the user side to the carrier network side is in the upstream direction.

outbound

Indicates that the traffic policy is applied to the outcoming packets.

The network traffic from the carrier network side to the user side is in the downstream direction.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

In user access scenarios, you can run the traffic-policy command in the system view to apply a traffic policy globally. After a traffic policy is configured, the device matches user access packets based on the rules in the traffic policy.

Precautions

This command is supported only on the admin VS.

Example

# Apply the traffic policy named abc globally.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] traffic policy abc
[*HUAWEI-trafficpolicy-abc] quit
[*HUAWEI] traffic-policy abc inbound
