Usage Guidelines

Usually, when authenticating a L2TP tunnel, the device authenticates only the name and password. With the AAA authentication enabled on the L2TP tunnel, the device sends the name and password to the AAA server (RADIUS server or HWTACACS server) for authentication. The tunnel AAA authentication allows different passwords on the LAC and the LNS.
