802.1p-to-vpn

Function

The 802.1p-to-vpn command enables a BAS interface to transmit packets to different VPNs based on 802.1p priorities of the packets.

The undo 802.1p-to-vpn command disables a BAS interface from transmitting packets to different VPNs based on 802.1p priorities of the packets.

By default, BAS interfaces do not transmit packets to different VPNs based on 802.1p priorities of the packets.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

Service packets carry 802.1p values to identify their priorities. The BRAS can identify service priorities based on the 802.1p values of received Layer 2 service packets and transmit the service packets to corresponding VPNs. To allow this, run the 802.1p-to-vpn command to enable a BAS interface to transmit packets to different VPNs based on 802.1p priorities of the packets, and also bind VPN instances to different 802.1p priorities.

Prerequisites

Layer 2 subscriber access has been configured for the BAS interface using the access-type layer2-subscriber command.

Follow-up Procedure

Run the 802.1p binding vpn-instance command to bind a VPN instance to an 802.1p priority.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

Access to different VPNs based on the 802.1p priority:

  1. PPPoEv4 users, IPoEv4 Layer 2 dynamic access users, and IPoEv4 static access users are supported.
  2. IPoE Layer 3 users, private line users, and L2TP users are not supported.
  3. Only IPv4 users, not IPv6 users, are supported. IPv6 users can go online, but flexible access VPN function does not take effect. When dual-stack users go online, only the flexible access VPN function for the IPv4 stack takes effect.
  4. GE sub-interfaces, trunk sub-interfaces, and PW-VE sub-interfaces are supported. VE sub-interfaces are not supported.
