The vlan-host-car command sets the CAR for CPU-destined packets that carry the same VLAN ID on the user side.
The undo vlan-host-car command restores the default settings.
By default, the CIR of the CPU-destined packets with VLAN tags of the same VLAN ID on the user side is 5120 kbit/s, the PIR is 5120 kbit/s, the CBS is 2560000 bytes, and the PBS is 2560000 bytes.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
pir pir-value |
Specifies the PIR. |
The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 4294967295, in kbit/s.Setting the PBS to be greater than or equal to the CBS. |
cbs cbs-value |
Specifies the CBS. |
The value is an integer ranging from 10000 to 4294967295, in bytes. |
pbs pbs-value |
Specifies the PBS. |
The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 4294967295, in bytes. Setting the PBS to a value smaller than the CBS is recommended so that traffic conforming to the CBS can be sent to the CPU. |
cir cir-value |
Specifies the CIR. |
The value is an integer ranging from 8 to 4294967295, in kbit/s. |
Usage Scenario
When any of the following problems occurs, you can set the CAR for CPU-destined packets that carry the same VLAN ID on the user side through this command.
Traffic congestion occurs on a link due to excessive CPU-destined packets that carry the same VLAN ID, which affects the processing efficiency of the CPU.
Certain packets are lost when the CAR is improperly set for CPU-destined packets that carry the same VLAN ID.
Configuration Impact
When this command is configured and multiple packets are sent to the CPU:
If these packets are single-tagged VLAN packets, packets with the same VLAN ID share the VLAN-Host-CAR.
If these packets are double-tagged VLAN packets, packets with the outer and inner VLAN IDs being respectively the same share the VLAN-Host-CAR.
Precautions
If the effective CIR is not the same as the configured CIR, run the display cpu-defend vlan-host-car auto-adjust statistics slot slot-id command to check whether automatic bandwidth adjustment is implemented.
