The vrrp version command configures a VRRP version for a device.
The undo vrrp version command restores the default VRRP version for a device.
By default, VRRPv2 is used.
Usage Scenario
If VRRPv2 and VRRPv3 are used on a network, and devices running VRRPv2 need to communicate with devices running VRRPv3, the vrrp version command can be used to specify a VRRP version number.
Follow-up Procedure
After VRRPv3 is used, run the vrrp version-3 send-packet-mode command in the system view or run the vrrp vrid version-3 send-packet-mode command in the system or interface view to select a mode of sending VRRP Advertisement packets.
Precautions
A VRRPv2 backup group can send and receive only VRRPv2 Advertisement packets.
A VRRPv3 backup group can send and receive both VRRPv2 and VRRPv3 Advertisement packets. The VRRPv3 backup group can communicate with both VRRPv2 and VRRPv3 backup groups. After the undo vrrp version command is run, the VRRPv3 mode configured using the vrrp version-3 send-packet-mode command is deleted and the VRRPv2 mode is globally used.
