Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If a VSI uses the LDP signaling, the VSI ID must be set.

The IDs of the VSIs in the same VPLS domain must be consistent.

Configuration Impact

A VSI ID uniquely identifies a VSI. The VSIs with the same VSI ID belong to one VPLS domain.

Follow-up Procedure

You can specify a peer for the VSI only after the VSI ID is set.

Precautions

  • The ID of each VSI must be unique on a device.
  • If the IDs of the VSIs at the two ends of a PW are different and the peer command is run to specify the peer, specify the negotiation-vc-id parameter so that the same VSI ID is used at the two ends. Otherwise, PW negotiation fails.

Example

# Set the ID of the current VSI to 1.
