The debugging bgp packet update command enables debugging of BGP update packets.

The undo debugging bgp packet update command disables debugging of BGP update packets.

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
vpnv4

Outputs debugging information about the VPNv4 route.

-

ipv4

Outputs debugging information about the IPv4 route.

-

unicast

Outputs debugging information about the specified unicast address family.

-

multicast

Outputs debugging information about the specified multicast address family.

-

peer peerIpv4Addr

Specifies the IP address of an IPv4 peer.

The value is in dotted decimal notation.

peer peerIpv6Addr

Specifies the IP address of an IPv6 peer.

The value is a 32-digit hexadecimal number, in the format of X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X.

ip-prefix ip-prefix-name

Specifies the name of an IP prefix list.

The name is a string of 1 to 169 case-sensitive characters, with spaces not supported. When double quotation marks are used around the string, spaces are allowed in the string.

receive

Outputs debugging information about the specified packet receiving direction.

-

send

Outputs debugging information about the specified packet sending direction.

-

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

The debugging bgp packet command enables debugging of BGP packets so that you can view the information during BGP packet receiving and sending.

When much information is output, you can filter the output information by VPN instance, peer, and address family.

Follow-up Procedure

Run the undo debugging bgp packet command to disable debugging.

Precautions

Debugging information is output on the screen. Do not output too much information for other purposes than debugging so that the performance is not affected.
