Description

The number of dynamic ARP entries exceeds the specification.

Parameters

EntPhysicalIndex	Indicates the index of the physical entity.
SlotName	Indicates the board name.
Specs	Indicates the maximum number of ARP dynamic entries.
DynEntries	Indicates the number of dynamic ARP entries.

Possible Causes

The number of ARP entries learned by a device board exceeds the specification.

Procedure

1. Run the display arp all command to determine the interfaces that have a large number of ARP entries. For these interfaces, run the display arp interface command to view the ARP entries and check whether these ARP entries are required by users.

If these ARP entries are required by users, go to Step 3.
If these ARP entries are not required by users, run the reset arp command to manually clear some ARP entries with the prerequisite that services are not affected. In this case, go to Step 2.

2. Run the display arp statistics command to check whether the number of ARP entries on the device continues to increase abnormally.

If the number of ARP entries does not keep increasing, go to Step 4.
If the number of ARP entries keeps increasing, go to Step 3.

3. Collect alarm and configuration information, and contact Huawei technical support personnel.
