BRASAAA/4/hwAAANoBackupInterfaceAlarm

Message

BRASAAA/4/hwAAANoBackupInterfaceAlarm: The number of users on the interface with no backup protection configured has reached the alarm threshold.(Interface=[Interface], number=[number], threshold=[threshold], protection=[protection], level=[level])

This log is supported only on NetEngine 8000 F1A.

In VS mode, this log is supported only by the admin VS.

Description

The function to generate an alarm when the number of users on an interface with no backup protection configured reaches the threshold is supported.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

Interface

specifies the name of an interface.

number

specifies the number of users on an interface with no backup protection configured.

threshold

specifies the alarm threshold for the number of users on an interface with no backup protection configured.

protection

specifies a backup protection type.

  • hot indicates that neither access response delay based on odd and even MAC addresses or the remote-backup-profile command is configured on an interface that is not an inter-board Eth-Trunk interface.
  • cold indicates that access response delay based on odd and even MAC addresses is configured on an interface but users with both odd and even MAC addresses go online from the interface.

level

specifies an alarm severity. The value can be minor and major.

Possible Causes

The system detects the number of users on interfaces at configured intervals and found that the number of users on a physical interface (sub-interfaces included) with no dual-device hot backup protection configured, an intra-board Eth-Trunk interface (sub-interfaces included), or an interface with access response delay based on odd and even MAC addresses configured but load imbalance occurs (for example, access response delay based on odd and even MAC addresses fails to take effect due to an interface fault) reached the configured alarm threshold.

Procedure

1. Run the remote-backup-profile profile-name command in the interface view to bind an RBP to the interface.

2. Run the access-delay delay-time command in the BAS interface view to configure a response delay policy for access users on the BAS interface.

3. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 5.
  • If the alarm persists, go to Step 4.

4. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.

5. End.
