MSDP/6/PEER_TIMEOUT: In the VPN instance, a session with the peer was initiated. (VPNName=[VPNName], PeerAddr=[PeerAddr], CpuUsage=[CpuUsage], RecvMsgCount=[RecvMsgCount], SendMsgCount=[SendMsgCount], LastAliveTime=[LastAliveTime])

Description

In the VPN instance, the session with the peer was closed because the peer holdtime expired.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

VPNName

Name of the VPN instance

PeerAddr

IP address of the peer

CpuUsage

CPU usage

RecvMsgCount

Number of messages received

SendMsgCount

Number of messages sent

LastAliveTime

Time when the last message was received

Possible Causes

In the VPN instance, the session with the peer was closed because the peer holdtime expired.

Procedure

1. Run the ping command to check whether the physical lines are normally connected.

  • If so, go to Step 2.
  • If not, go to Step 3.

2. Run the display msdp peer-status command to check whether the peer configurations change.

3. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
