DEVM/4/PHY_STATUS_DOWN2UP: The status of [PortName] change up. ([PortStatus])

Description

The physical status of the interface configured with auto-negotiation went up.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

PortName

Interface name.

PortStatus

Negotiated interface bandwidth after the interface goes up. The options are as follows:

  • The bandwidth of the port is 10M and the duplex is FULL.
  • The bandwidth of the port is 10M and the duplex is HALF.
  • The bandwidth of the port is 100M and the duplex is FULL.
  • The bandwidth of the port is 100M and the duplex is HALF.
  • The bandwidth of the port is 1000M and the duplex is FULL.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The interface was in the shutdown state. After the undo shutdown command was run, the interface went up.

Cause 2: The interface was configured with auto-negotiation, and the interface went up after the negotiation succeeded.

Cause 3: The twisted pair or optical fiber was inserted. The interface went up after the negotiation succeeded.

Procedure

1. Check whether the negotiated bandwidth is correct in the log generated to prompt the user to negotiate the bandwidth after the interface goes up.

  • If the bandwidth is correct, no action is required.
  • If the bandwidth is incorrect, check the link.
