PIM/2/PIM_ROUTE_EXCEED_active: The number of existed routing entries exceeded the global upper limit. (LimitType=[LimitType], AddressFamily=[AddressFamily], CurrentCount=[CurrentCount], LimitCount=[LimitCount],SrcAddr=[SrcAddr], GrpAddr=[GrpAddr], InstanceName=[InstanceName])

Description

The number of created PIM entries on the device reached the specified limit.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

LimitType

Type of entry for which an entry number limit takes effect, which is one of the followings:

  • PIM-SM (*, G) entry
  • PIM-SM (S, G) entry
  • PIM-DM (*, G) entry
  • PIM-DM (S, G) entry

AddressFamily

Address family

CurrentCount

Number of created PIM entries on the device

LimitCount

Limit on the number of PIM entries on the device

SrcAddr

Multicast source address

If the set limited value is less than the existed routes number, the values of SrcAddr and GrpAddr are 0.0.0.0.

GrpAddr

Multicast group address

If the set limited value is less than the existed routes number, the values of SrcAddr and GrpAddr are 0.0.0.0.

InstanceName

Instance of which the number of created (S, G) entries on the device reaches the specified limit

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: Entry create
  • Cause 2: Configuration change

Procedure

  • Cause 1: Entry create

    1. Run the display multicast global outgoing-interface pim sm statistics command to check whether the number limit is low.

    • If the limit is low, go to Step 2.
    • If the limit is not low, go to Step 3.

    2. Run the multicast global limit command to set a proper limit. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 4.
    • If the alarm persists, go to Step 3.

    3. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

    4. End.

  • Cause 2: Configuration change

    The same as Cause 1.
