FEI_SEC/6/PORTCAR_RISING

Message

FEI_SEC/6/PORTCAR_RISING: The number of packets sent to the CPU exceeded the threshold. (INTERFACE=[Interface], TOTALPACKET=[TotalPacket], THRESHOLD=[Threshold])

Description

The number of packets sent from an interface to the CPU exceeded the threshold.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

Interface

Interface name

TotalPacket

Number of packets sent to the CPU

Threshold

Alarm threshold

Possible Causes

The number of packets sent from an interface to the CPU within an alarm period exceeded the alarm threshold.

Procedure

1. Check whether the alarm threshold is set low.

  • If the alarm threshold is set low, run the alarm access-rate port-car threshold command to set a higher alarm threshold.
  • If the alarm threshold is not set low, go to step 2.

2. Run the display port-car rate-limit interface statistics command to check whether the interface on which the alarm is generated has a great number of packets sent to the CPU.

  • If the interface has a great number of packets sent to the CPU, go to step 3.
  • If the interface does not have a great number of packets sent to the CPU, go to step 5.

3. Run the display cpu-defend car statistics command to check whether packet loss occurs.

  • If packet loss occurs, go to step 4.
  • If no packets are lost, go to step 5.

4. Check whether the interface is a user-side interface.

  • If the interface is a user-side interface, run the port-car rate-limit command in the interface view to set a lower rate limit.
  • If it is difficult to determine whether the interface is a user-side interface, go to step 5.

5. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
