Possible Causes

After the RADIUS authentication server failed, the device set the server state to down. The server state automatically became up 180s later. However, whether the RADIUS server fault can be rectified was not confirmed at this time. The server was considered fake up.

1. Run the display radius-server configuration [group group-name] command to check the server status.

  • If the server status is down, contact server maintenance engineers to rectify the fault.
  • If the server status is up, go to Step 2.

2. Ping the RADIUS server from the device to check whether the ping operation is successful.

  • If the IP address cannot be pinged, go to Step 3.
  • If the IP address can be pinged, contact technical support.

3. Rectify the ping failure between the device and the RADIUS server and check whether the log is cleared.

  • If the log is cleared, go to Step 5.
  • If the logs is not cleared, go to Step 4.

4. Collect log and configuration information and contact technical support engineers.

5. End
