Message

TRUNK/2/TRUNK_MEM_LINKDOWN: The link status of the trunk member interface turned to DOWN.(ifIndex=[ifIndex], ifAdminStatus=[ifAdminStatus], ifOperStatus=[ifOperStatus], ifDescr=[ifDescr], hwIFExtPhyStatus=[hwIFExtPhyStatus], hwIFExtMemberOf=[hwIFExtMemberOf])

Description

A trunk member interface went Down.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

ifIndex

Index of a trunk member interface

ifAdminStatus

Administration status of a trunk member interface

ifOperStatus

Operating status of a trunk member interface

ifDescr

Name of a trunk member interface

hwIFExtPhyStatus

Physical status of a trunk member interface

hwIFExtMemberOf

Name of the trunk interface to which the member interface belongs

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The interface was shut down, and its inserted physical link was disconnected. Cause 2: The link-layer protocol status of the interface became Down.

Procedure

  • Cause 1: The interface was shut down, and its inserted physical link was disconnected.

1. Run the display this command in the interface view to check whether the trunk member interface is shut down.

  • If the interface is shut down, go to Step 2.
  • If the interface is not shut down, go to Step 3.

2. Run the undo shutdown command in the interface view to enable the interface and then check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to Step 3.

3. Check whether the physical connection of the interface is proper (for example, whether the network cable is properly connected and optical module is properly inserted).

  • If the physical connection is proper, go to Step 5.
  • If the physical connection is improper, go to Step 4.

4. Correctly connect the physical link and check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to Step 5.

5. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

  • Cause 2: The link-layer protocol status of the interface became Down.

3. Troubleshoot the Down fault of the link-layer protocol. If the link-layer protocol still cannot go Up, go to Step 4.

4. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
