BGP/2/hwBgpDiscardRecvRoute_active: BGP discard received routes. (InstanceName=[InstName], Afi=[AddrFamilyAfi], Safi=[AddrFamilySafi], DiscardReason=[DiscardReason])

In VS mode, this log is supported only by the admin VS.

Description

BGP discards the received routes.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

InstName

BGP instance name. "-" indicates the default BGP instance, and other values indicate multiple instances.

AddrFamilyAfi

Alarm Cause

Possible Causes

BGP discard received routes.

Procedure

1. Check the cause for route discarding in the alarm.

  • If the cause is "System memory exceed", go to Step 2.
  • If the cause is not "System memory exceed", go to Step 5.

2. Run the display memory-usage command to check the memory usage.

  • If the memory usage of the process where the BGP component resides is high, go to Step 3.
  • If the memory usage of the process where the BGP component resides is low, go to Step 5.

3. Check whether BGP memory change messages exist in diagnostic logs.

  • If the diagnostic log shows that the SSP component notified the BNM component of top 3 messages, go to Step 4.
  • If none of the preceding messages is displayed, go to Step 5.

4. Delete unnecessary BGP services and configurations to reduce memory usage. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If no alarm is generated, the fault is rectified.
  • If the alarm persists, go to Step 5.

5. Collect alarm and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
