Message

IGMP/2/hwMgmdGMPInterfaceLimit_active: Membership report message is discarded because the interface-specific IGMP or MLD group membership limitation is exceeded. (AddressFamily=[AddressFamily], SrcAddr=[SrcAddr], GrpAddr=[GrpAddr], Ifindex=[IfIndex], CurrentCount=[CurrentCount], Ifname=[IfName], InstanceName=[InstanceName])

Description

The number of IGMP or MLD group memberships on the specified interface exceeded the limit, and the Report message was discarded. If the value of access-limit is changed to be smaller than the number of existing multicast groups on the current interface, the online multicast groups do not go offline, and the source address and group address in the alarm are all 0s.

Parameters

AddressFamily

Address family:

  • 1: IPv4 family.
  • 2: IPv6 family.

SrcAddr

Source address.

GrpAddr

Group address.

IfIndex

interface index.

CurrentCount

Limit on the number of IGMP entries on the device.

IfName

Name of the interface.

InstanceName

Name of the instance where the number of IGMP entries on the interface exceeded the limit.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: Entry create
  • Cause 2: Configuration change

Procedure

1. Run the igmp access-limit command to check whether the number limit is low.

  • If the limit is low, go to Step 2.
  • If the limit is not low, go to Step 3.

2. Run the igmp access-limit command to set a proper limit. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 4.
  • If the alarm persists, go to Step 3.

3. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
