DEVM/1/hwTempRisingAlarm_active: SRM_BASE/2/TEMPRISINGALARM: OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.129.2.2.1 Temperature exceeded the upper prealarm limit. (EntityPhysicalIndex=[ULONG], EntityPhysicalIndex=[ULONG], BaseThresholdType=1, BaseThresholdEntityPhysicalIndex=[ULONG], BaseTrapSeverity=6, BaseTrapProbableCause=70656, BaseTrapEventType=6 EntPhysicalName=[STRING], BaseThresholdValue=[ULONG],, BaseThresholdUnit=2 HighWarning=[ULONG], HighCritical=[ULONG])

In VS mode, this log is supported only by the admin VS.

Description

The temperature of a physical entity exceeded the upper limit.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

BaseTrapSeverity

Indicates the severity level of the trap reported to the NMS.

BaseTrapProbableCause

Indicates possible causes.

BaseTrapEventType

Indicates the type of the trap.

EntityPhysicalIndex

Indicates the physical index.

entPhysicalName

Indicates the name of the entity.

BaseThresholdValue

Indicates the actual value.

BaseThresholdUnit

Indicates the unit of the value (mV).

BaseThresholdHighWarning

Indicates the minor upper limit.

BaseThresholdHighCritical

Indicates the upper critical limit.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The slot where no board is installed was not inserted with a filler panel.

Cause 2: The air filter was blocked.

Cause 3: The environmental temperature was too high.

Cause 4: The fan was faulty.

Cause 5: The temperature of the chip was too high.

Procedure

1. Run the display temperature slot slot-id command in the user view to view the temperature of each board.

2. Check whether a filler panel is inserted in the slot where no board is installed.

  • If so, go to Step 4.
  • If not, go to Step 3.

3. Insert filler panel in the slots where no board is installed and check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If so, go to Step 9.
  • If not, go to Step 3.

4. Check whether the fan is faulty.

  • If so, go to Step 11.
  • If not, go to Step 5.

5. Replace the fan and check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If so, go to Step 11.
  • If no, go to Step 6.

6. Check whether the air filter is blocked.

  • If so, go to Step 11.
  • If not, go to Step 7.

7. Clean the air filter and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If so, go to Step 11.
  • If not, go to Step 8.

8. Check whether the environmental temperature is too high.

  • If so, go to Step 9.

9. If the environmental temperature is normal, the temperature of the chip must be too high. In such a case, no action is required. Then, go to Step 10.

10.Adjust the environmental temperature and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If so, go to Step 11.
  • If not, go to Step 10.

10. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support.

11. End.
