Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

ifIndex

Index of the interface on which VRRP6 is configured

VrId

VRID of the VRRP6 backup group

MasterIpAddr

IP address of the master device in the VRRP6 backup group

Cause 2: The primary link of the VRRP6 backup group went down.

Cause 3: The VRRP6 priority of the master or backup device changed.

Cause 4: VRRP6 backup group was deleted.

Procedure

1. Check the value of CurentState to see the changed VRRP6 status.

  • If the VRRP6 status is initialize, go to Step 2.
  • If the VRRP6 status is backup, go to Step 3.

2. Check whether the interface on which VRRP is configured is working properly.

  • If the interface is working properly, go to Step 5.
  • If the interface is working improperly, go to Step 4.

3. Run the display vrrp6 command to check the configured and running priorities of VRRP6 on the original master and backup routers.

  • Check whether the VRRP6-tracking interface or BFD went Down, and the VRRP priority was reduced. If the VRRP6-tracking interface or BFD went Down and the VRRP6 priority was reduced, locate the cause of the fault and restore the faulty link. If the faulty link is restored, go to Step 6.
  • If the VRRP6 tracking interface or BFD is working properly, go to Step 5.

4. Run the display this interface command in the view of the interface on which VRRP6 is configured to check the physical and protocol status of the interface.

  • If the physical status is Down, the link is faulty. Locate the cause of the fault and restore the link. Then, go to Step 6.
  • If the physical status is Up, check the protocol status. If the protocol status is Down, the IP address of the interface is deleted. Then, go to Step 6.
  • If the protocol status is Up, the IP address of the interface and the virtual IP address of VRRP6 are on different network segments.

5. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. Check whether the configurations of the local and remote ends are correct. If there is any incorrect configuration, correct it.

6. End.
