You can configure CAR for whitelisted RADIUS sessions to limit the rate at which packets of the whitelisted RADIUS sessions are sent to the RADIUS server. This configuration prevents non-whitelisted RADIUS sessions from preempting bandwidth if the RADIUS server encounters a traffic burst.
When packets sent to the RADIUS server form a traffic burst, sessions may preempt bandwidth. To resolve this problem, you can configure CAR for whitelisted RADIUS sessions. This configuration isolates the channel used for the whitelisted RADIUS sessions from those used for other RADIUS sessions. If the default CAR parameters for whitelisted RADIUS sessions do not meet service requirements, you can adjust them as required.
