Configuring Proactive Loop Detection upon Interface Up

Proactive loop detection upon interface Up takes effect only after being configured both in the system and interface views.

Context

Perform the following steps on each PE.

In VS mode, this configuration task is supported only by the admin VS.

It is recommended that you disable this function on properly running devices. If you have to use this function to detect whether links operate properly during site deployment, be sure to disable this function after this stage.

Procedure

Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
Run loop-detect trigger enable
Proactive loop detection upon interface Up is enabled globally.
- After proactive loop detection upon interface Up is enabled globally, the function must also be enabled on an interface to take effect.
- After proactive loop detection upon interface Up is disabled globally, the function stops taking effect.
(Optional) Run interface { ethernet | gigabitethernet | eth-trunk } interface-number
The Ethernet interface view is displayed.
(Optional) Run undo loop-detect trigger disable
Proactive loop detection upon interface Up is enabled.
- The Ethernet interface must be an AC interface.
- Proactive loop detection upon interface Up takes effect only after being enabled in both the system and interface views.
(Optional) Run loop-detect trigger min-slot-uptime min-slot-uptime
A minimum period during which an interface board must be working before proactive loop detection is triggered is configured.
(Optional) Run loop-detect trigger min-port-uptime min-port-uptime
A minimum period during which an interface must be Down before a change to Up triggers proactive loop detection is configured.
(Optional) Run loop-detect trigger detection vid low-vid [ to high-vid ]
A VLAN range for the main interface to send proactive loop detection packets is set.
