Description

EMDI

Enhanced media delivery index (EMDI) allows E2E measurement of the multicast video service packets specified on each network node on an IP network so that performance indicators including the packet loss rate, disorder rate, and jitter can be obtained. EMDI has the advantages of easy deployment, full NE coverage, and high statistics precision.

QoE

Quality of experience (QoE) is a performance indicator used to evaluate the subjective feeling of the quality and performance (including effectiveness and availability) of devices, networks, systems, applications, or services. QoE defines service quality from the aspect of experience. Carriers can use the QoE score to evaluate the video service quality and optimize the network as required.

RTP

As a real-time transmission protocol, RTP provides E2E transmission services and is widely used in streaming-related communication and entertainment services, such as online live telecasting, web TV, and video conference. An RTP packet consists of a packet header and a payload. Figure 1 shows the format of an RTP packet header.
