Result-Code

The Result-Code AVP (AVP Code 268) is of type Unsigned32 and the length is 4 bytes. It indicates whether a particular request was completed successfully or whether an error occurred. This AVP is carried in a response message to indicate the result code of a request message. The Result-Code AVP and/or the Experimental-Result AVP must exist.

After processing an RAR message successfully, the PCEF sends an RAA message in which the value of the Result-Code AVP is DIAMETER_SUCCESS.

The PCRF checks whether a user is online. If the user is offline, the PCRF returns the Result-Code AVP whose value is DIAMETER_UNKNOWN_SESSION_ID.
