Configuring a VLAN Channelized Sub-Interface

This section describes how to configure a VLAN channelized sub-interface.

Context

To prevent services from affecting each other, a mechanism to isolate different types of services is in need. Different service flows are forwarded through specific VLAN channelized sub-interfaces with dot1q encapsulation. Each channelized sub-interface implements independent HQoS scheduling to isolate services of different types.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number.subinterface-number

The physical sub-interface view is displayed.

  3. Run vlan-type dot1q vlanid

The encapsulation mode of the physical sub-interface is set to dot1q.

  4. Run quit

    Return to the system view.

  5. Run license

    The license view is displayed.

There is no need to activate the license for a channelized sub-interface on a GE interface.

  6. Run quit

    Return to the system view.

  7. Run interface interface-type interface-number.subinterface-number

The physical sub-interface view is displayed.

  8. Run mode channel enable

The physical sub-interface is configured as a VLAN channelized sub-interface.

  9. (Optional) Run mode channel bandwidth bwvalue

The bandwidth is configured for the channelized sub-interface.

  10. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
