MAC Address Learning

A NetEngine 8000 F or a switch learns the source MAC address of a user packet to forward the packet to the proper destination.

MAC Address Limit

You can restrict the number of MAC addresses to be learnt by an interface to enhance the network security.

MAC Address Limit Threshold

It is the maximum number of MAC addresses to be learnt by an interface.

Action

It is the behavior used by the NetEngine 8000 F to process a subsequent packet when the MAC address limit threshold is reached. Currently, there are two actions: discard and forward.
